The Wootton tournament was a lovely day for football, the only complaint we had was that the ground was a little hard and didn't take a stud very easily. Some of the parents got a little chilly, but who cares about them anyway......
The red team had an excellent group stage, after a shaky start in the first game. They won their league outright with 12 points ( 2 points being awarded for a score draw ), the only surprise being that a good strong Billing United team didn't pick up enough points to go through. Runners up were Wootton St George.

The blues struggled in this tournament, just not managing to put enough convincing team work together. Never mind boys, there is always another tournament around the corner.

The semi-final against Wooldale Blue was disappointing. The reds had chances but didn't manage to put them away today. Wooldale went a goal up with the reds all up the pitch expecting to score, the reds then pressed for an equaliser as the time drained away, but paid for their inability to put the ball away, by finalising losing 2 nil.
Thanks to everyone for another great season. We are all looking forward to the first 11 a-side season. The boys need a rest from the managers, and the managers need a rest from the boys. See everyone back at training ( if you're not still on holiday ) on Saturday 18th August.
Goodbye to Ben Mitchell, we hope he has enjoyed his time at the Generals.
