12/07/2009 - Brixworth Bike Ride

Thank you to everybody who made the effort to join us on the bike ride this year. The rain held off until we were nearly home, so there are no complaints. It was great to see everybody having such a good time and enjoying the beautiful scenery - when they weren't panting to get up the hills!

The boys really enjoyed themselves and with so many other family members taking part, it was another chance to get together and enjoy ourselves. I'm sure we will be able to make this a regular event, as we build up to the tour de France distances!

04/07/2009 - Generals Friendly Tournament

A big thank you to Kevin and Ellis for all the organisational effort which went into today's friendly tournament. I think it is clear that Broughton is going to be a fantastic place for our home pitch next season.

It was great weather, and a really good natured environment for the matches. Once again we would like to thank the other three teams, Wollaston, Weekley and Ise, who helped to make the event so successful.

It was great to see so many family members enjoying the day, and mucking in with all the jobs that help present the football club in such a good light. Thank you to all those who were able to help out today, the 'Tuckshop' was a great success.

The aim of the tournament was to give the teams an opportunity to prepare themselves for next season, by trying out new ideas and formations within a series of 30 minute friendly matches. We saw some very close games today, with Wollaston leading the tournament going into the final game, they only needed a draw against Generals to top the table. So it was fantastic to see Generals hold out, without making any mistakes all day, to win the final game. Well done boys.

14/06/2009 - Burton Youth Champions

What a fantastic day at the Burton Youth Tournament, the teams winning their league in first and second place, with only goal difference to split them.

As both teams powered through their semi-finals, it was fantastic to see them all as winners in the final. The quality of the football from both teams today made all of the parents and family members very proud to be part of Kettering Generals today.

Thank you for all of the support, but especially to the boys who worked so hard today, and got their just reward.

You'll find more memorable moments in the pictures section.

06/06/2009 - Team building at Jungle Parc

Thanks to everybody who was able to get to Irchester Country park today. I think it's safe to say that everybody had a wonderful time, even the weather was very good to us, considering some of the forecasts!

We were all very proud of everybody who had a go, on what turned out to be a very challenging course, I'll show you my bruises to prove it. All the boys encouraged each other over some very tricky obstacles, let's hope they'll shout that much at the tournament next weekend!

Make sure you take a look at the photos and thanks to those family members who also took time to take part and enjoy the day.

Thanks to Mandy for taking so many pictures, they look great, especially this one of Jason. Just put a mark on the screen where you think you can see his camouflaged outline....
